Jal - Some info for your guys about Jal



Jal's music comes under the Pakistani pop genre. Jal play along the lines of Latin-Acoustic Guitars, the main focus of their music is on the melodies and the lyrics.



Jal band members



Gohar Mumtaz (composer/guitarist/lyricist)



Gohar has spent most of his life in Faisalabad. He composed the lyrics for songs such as Dil Haarey, Woh Lamhay, Aadat. Gohar has also worked with talented Mekaal Hasan during the composition of songs. He moved to Lahore and teamed up with Atif Aslam to start the band Jal.
They have since split and Atif performs on a solo basis and Jal continues.



Farhan Saeed (singer)

From an early age, Farhan was taught singing professionally by Ustad Abdullah and Ustad Ijaz.
In 1999, he started his A' Levels from KIMS where he also began to sing in front of house full capacity audiences in the institute. In year 2001, he went on to do his bachelors degree. During the same period farhan carried on working on practising his singing and frequently took part in competitions that were held both on and off the campus. In early 2004, he took part in another competition where Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan (Xulfi eP) and Sultan Raja (Bassist of Call) were present and who first spotted Farhan. As a result he was introduced in mid 2004 by Sultan Raja to Goher Mumtaz. On the Jal debut album, he was the lead singer to all the album songs and has since been collaborating with Goher.



Aamir Sheraz (Shazi) (guitarist/ bass player)


Aamir received formal training from the Church to play bass guitar in 1995. He joined up with the Lahore band, Wet Metal in 1998. Two years later, he signed up with another band known as Jupitar and continued to play with them for a further three years. In 2003 he began to play as a session player for different bands. Aamir collaborated with Shehzad Hameed's band with whom he worked to complete a full album. Shazi formally signed up with Jal in 2004. He now performs with the band as a full-time member of and has played bass guitars for their album Aadat.






Apart from the three full time band members, Jal's live performance act also includes Waqar Khan (from eP) on Drums and Sultan Raja (from The Call) on Rhythm guitars;

Waqar is a regular member of the band eP and has been playing as a drummer for them since its inception more than 2 years ago. He joined Jal for their live acts as a session player.
Sultan Raja is a regular member of the band called Call and he plays for Jal in their live performances, and also accompanies them as a session player.

Thanks for the info :).... They are very talented ..But they are OK for me :) ... they have good songs...
